Now use fleming's left hand rule. with your second finger pointing towards the current and thumb along the arrows on the field line (downwards), then you will see that your pointing finger is pointing towards the right. And in the Fleming's left hand rule, the pointing finger is the direction of magnetic field and magnetic field always travels from north. Hence force is acting on a north pole.
